7.5 Tonner Training
Category C1 (7.5 ton) training is undertaken in our own vehicle which is used exclusively for driver training purposes. The vehicle is a Mercedes Benz Atego 815 (pictured above)
In January 1997, the laws regarding C1 driving licensing were changed. Anyone who passed their car test before this date automatically gained the entitlement to drive C1 vehicles. Anyone who passes the car test after January 1997, will need to pass a test in a C1 vehicle in order to drive a 7.5 tonner.
If a test is required, the first thing to do is obtain a provisional licence. The next stage is an LGV theory test. After successfully completing the theory test, a driving test can be booked and the relevant driver training can be done.
